Government Summit to Showcase the Cost Savings and Process Efficiencies of Digital Government

Keynote Speaker State of Michigan CIO David Behen to Discuss Funding Michigan Technology

SOUTHFIELD, MI, (May 6, 2014) — Using information technology to create better processes and cost savings in government, and funding new government technology initiatives will be the chief topics of discussion at the 2014 ImageSoft Government Summit next month.

Planned for June 4 at the Lansing Center in Lansing, Mich., this year’s Summit, themed Government Gone Digital! The Savings, Efficiencies & Transparency of Paper-On-Demand Government, is expected to draw upwards of 175 attendees. Representatives from city and county government throughout Michigan and neighboring states, including judges, clerks, prosecutors, court administrators, law enforcement, finance and IT staff, and others from paper-intensive government agencies have been invited to attend.

“When government agencies shed slow, paper-based processes and move to digital “paper-on-demand” processes, the benefits are wide ranging,” said Scott Bade, ImageSoft president. “They realize immediate improvements in productivity; they reduce costs, improve transparency and are better able to serve their constituents. The Summit will focus on how to make the transition from paper to digital process and will showcase those who have successfully done it and the results they’ve achieved.”

Presented annually by ImageSoft, Inc., of Southfield, Mich., the Government Summit is free of charge for government employees and will feature a general session and four breakout sessions with a choice of 16 different workshops on creating efficiencies in government.

During the general session, David Behen, director of the Department of Technology, Management and Budget, and CIO, State of Michigan, will present the keynote address on Funding Michigan Technology. Behen will share Michigan’s vision for funding information technology in state government. Technology investments are a key driver for improved government efficiency and cost savings, playing a major role in Governor Snyder’s reinvention of state government. Attendees will learn about the strong ongoing commitment to fund various information technology-related projects, including additional upgrades and replacements of legacy computer systems, ultimately resulting in improved service for citizens and businesses. Sandy Jurek, Macomb County chief information officer, will be the featured speaker.

The Summit will be held from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Pre-registration for the event, which includes continental breakfast, lunch and conference materials, is encouraged. Government Summit participants are also invited to take part in a pre-Summit golf outing and welcome dinner on June 3 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Hawk Hollow Golf Course in Bath, Mich.
