Jackson is the tenth county in Michigan to choose ImageSoft to streamline and automate court cases
Jackson County is the 10th county in Michigan to choose ImageSoft, Inc. as their strategic partner in creating a more efficient and effective county.
The ImageSoft solution will streamline and automate many of Jackson County’s workflow processes, giving constituents and employees the ability to retrieve case files and other pertinent information in seconds, versus the hours it took previously.
“By being more efficient and doing more with less, it is a wise use of the people’s tax dollars and we will have the ability to redirect funds to benefit them more in the long run,” says Andy Crisenbery, FOC Director.
Initially, all Employees within the Friend of the Court Department will utilize the ImageSoft solution. Jackson County has 16,000 active FOC case files with paper documents stored floor to ceiling across 10 rows. Once the solution is in place, Jackson will convert these documents into digital images and store them in one computer repository.
Over the past several years, Jackson County evaluated the flow between several courts, the amount of paper produced, and their storage requirements. “We did our research and we spoke with other counties inquiring about what they were using in terms of content management. We also had demonstrations from Ottawa County’s system, which was implemented by ImageSoft,” said Crisenbery. “After seeing first-hand what ImageSoft’s solution has done for other counties, we knew they were the best option for improving our productivity as a whole.”
Jackson County estimates the initial stages of the system will be up and running by the end of 2008. Future plans include offering the ImageSoft solution to other departments, including: the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Clerk of the Court, Circuit Court and other cities and townships within the county.
