David Behen, Chief Information Officer for the State of Michigan, will share the state’s vision for funding information technology in state government. Technology investments are a key driver for improved government efficiency and cost savings, playing a major role in Governor Snyder’s reinvention of state government. Attendees will learn about the strong ongoing commitment to fund various information technology related projects, including additional upgrades and replacements of legacy computer systems, ultimately resulting in improved service for citizens and businesses.

About David Behen

David BehenIn his dual capacities at the State of Michigan, David is responsible for setting strategic direction and ensuring timely delivery of state services. As director of DTMB, David leads efforts to provide the full range of information technology and communications, facility management, financial, procurement, fleet and retirement services, among others. As state CIO, he directs development of IT resources to meet the growing needs of Michigan’s citizens. David holds a seat on Governor Rick Snyder’s Cabinet, advising the governor on technology investments and implementing innovative IT programs. He also holds a number of board and committee positions in professional and technology organizations. Before joining the State of Michigan, David cofounded a software company and served as a vice president and CIO of its parent corporation. He previously worked as CIO and deputy administrator of Washtenaw County.
