Accident Fund Insurance Company of America and ImageSoft, Inc. Recognized with Industry’s RealSolutions Award

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Accident Fund Insurance Company of America, in conjunction with ImageSoft, Inc., is the winner of a RealSolutions Award for Best Insurance Solution. Accident Fund, a national insurance organization, and number one provider of workers compensation insurance for Michigan businesses, and ImageSoft, a leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and workflow automation for government, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, and higher education, worked together to design and launch a content management strategy across multiple regions to improve processes and speed of customer service.

The RealSolutions Awards, presented by Hyland Software at the 2008 OnBase Training and Technology Conference in Las Vegas, NV, recognizes organizations using Enterprise Content Management solutions in a unique and successful manner. Specifically, the Best Insurance Solution award highlights a company who uses OnBase—an enterprise content management software that combines integrated document management, business process management and records management in a single application—to eliminate organizational challenges around employee efficiency, departmental processes, and customer care.

Using ImageSoft for integration and strategy expertise, Accident Fund first prepared to implement the OnBase system by gathering a cross-functional team to focus on key areas such as technology, process and workflow, project management, communications, training and change management. In the past, Accident Fund shipped all paperwork to a Third Party Vendor, each region operated almost entirely independent of the other regions, retrieving quick claims was a logistical nightmare, and customer service was a long and arduous process.

The implementation of OnBase allowed Accident Fund to standardize core processes for several claims regions while maintaining continued scalability. Relevant information regarding a file is linked electronically, information flows faster and to multiple departments, individual regions are now seamlessly connected, and customer service is no longer a waiting game. Additionally, Accident Fund examiners are investing up to 45 minutes more per day in case work management, resulting in better service and results for its claimants and agent partners.

“Improving workflow and streamlining Accident Fund’s processes has given them physical, tangible, and emotional benefits for their staff and partners alike,” said ImageSoft President and CEO, Scott Bade. “They truly approached Enterprise Content Management as an organizational-wide strategy, and for that, the RealSolution award is a perfect recognition for their improvements around business functions, employee productivity, and customer service.”

“Improvements in our customer service was one of the most important objectives to get OnBase,” said Customer Service Center Director Linda Barnes. “We can now more efficiently serve our claimants and policyholders. All the information is stored in the system, rather than in a paper file. We can answer callers’ questions because the information is in front of us on our screens.”

Other award winners included Cleveland Clinic, MMA, American Public University System, Mitsui, and American Tire Distributors. For the full list of awardees and more information about RealSolutions, please visit
